Opportunities for Language Instruction and Practice

Course Description: This intermediate level course is designed to teach speech-language pathologists and teachers of the deaf ways to increase students’ language practice. Topics include: understanding why to schedule a daily language period, recognizing ways to improve collaboration between staff to build both syntax and academics in students, and how to develop a lesson with students of varying language levels.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize opportunities to incorporate language practice throughout the day
  • Identify ways to enhance staff collaboration to meet student goals
  • Recognize the relationship between syntax and academic concepts.
  • Determine a variety of objectives to be practiced during a language period

 

Synchronous Workshop for Groups: Our live, virtual workshops are hosted by our CID professionals, allowing your group to learn together.

  • The Opportunities for Language synchronous workshop includes:
    • 3.5 hours of live education
    • Continuing Education Unit options available
    • Certificates of completion
    • $600 per workshop
